Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester
#1 Successfully complete the Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Licensing Course TCEQ #1200 and obtain a Certificate of Completion.
#2 Go to TCEQ e-Application Instructions. Complete online license application and allow adequate time for TCEQ’s processing of application.
#3 Receive TCEQ approval letter.
#4 Contact Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) at 800-723-3811 for exam application.
Completing 40 hours of course #1200 provides education credit for the following licenses:
- 40 hours for licensed Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers (BPAT)
-100 hours for an applicant for a Plumbing Inspectors license (through TSBPE)
-12 hours for Customer Service Inspectors (CI), Landscape Irrigators (LI), Irrigation Technicians (IT), Irrigation Inspectors (II), Water Operators (WO), Wastewater Operators (WW), Water Treatment Specialist (WT)
Recommended Supplies: pencil/pen, hi-liter. You are welcome to bring your test kits to class however; three and five valve deferential gauges are available for use during class.
